September 14–18, 2026
The 2026 IU Research Data Commons Virtual Resource Fair streamlines your search for research data support by gathering services, tools, and supports into a single virtual event.
Registration is quick and easy!
Whether you're a faculty member, staff member, postdoc, or student, this virtual fair is your gateway to the resources that power successful research workflows—from planning and data discovery to analysis, sharing, and compliance.
Discover what’s available at IU — Explore available datasets, training opportunities, one-on-one consultation services, specialist tools, and research-support offerings.
Connect personally — Join a drop-in Zoom session on Tuesday, September 15th, 11 AM - 1 PM ET to speak with research data experts about a project, ask questions, and get individualized guidance.
Address real challenges — Discover resources tailored to your needs, from managing complex datasets to preparing data sharing plans and meeting funder requirements.
Stay productive and efficient — All resources are curated to help you get your research done smarter and faster.
Throughout the week, “virtual booths” will showcase IU research data resources with summaries, links, and direct pathways for support. Participation doesn’t require travel — everything happens online, and materials remain available afterward.
Our fair features research data-related resources and services from across all IU campuses and is promoted to faculty, staff, and graduate students seeking support for getting their research work done.
A typical booth will feature a text-based summary, links to resources, and the opportunity to book time with your team.
Information about your research data resource or service will be gathered over email and forms. Generally, here is what you can expect to provide:
- Title of Resource or Booth
- Summary of your services
- Downloadable or linked materials
- How to meet with a member of your team (contact form, office hours, central email)
- About your unit
- Campuses served
- Contact information
To view sample booths, contact rdcevent@iu.edu.
We need to know each other to guide others around the university quickly and efficiently. The services or resources your group offers are valuable, but the team members in your unit are the true powerhouse.
We will have both a voluntary virtual mixer for booth teams before we launch the event.
The virtual resource fair is part of the IU Libraries Fall into Research event series. Visit the Fall into Research website to find webinars designed to walk you through the basics of researching with data at IU— from organizing and storing your data to meeting funder requirements and finding the right tools.
